Baratak Grove
Searching
The Baratak represent a faction in Galactic Civilizations IV. They are led by Socotra.
Sentient tree-like creatures, the Baratak are strange to see in the harsh environment of space. With an innate ability to revitalize dead worlds, their potential is considerable, and likely to follow different paths than their galactic peers.
The Baratak excel at creating great planets. Their ability to transform a dead world to a living one allows them to create new colonies, which they can then feed into their core worlds. Baratak can make even inhospitable solar systems burgeon with life.
History
Denizens of a garden paradise, the Baratak followed a unique evolutionary path for a spacefaring civilization, being merely the most advanced of an array of symbiotic lifeforms in their homeworld's ecosystem.Peaceful by nature, but incredibly intolerant of pollution - on both a moral and physical level - the Baratak have been greatly dismayed by the behavior they've witnessed in the other species of the galaxy, and aren't shy about expressing it. Also, don't ever ask them when their leaves will fall off.
