The Corporate Sector represent a faction in Galactic Civilizations IV. They are led by Harondin Gaul.

The Corporate Sector is ruled by a number of multi-planet corporations. With traders amongst the galaxy's best, the entire civilization's satisfaction and sense of self-worth is unsurprisingly correlated with the amount of Credits in their coffers.

The Corporate Sector is excellent at research and development and quick to maximize the economic potential of any new discovery. They have many ways to fill up the treasury, and they are well-served to use them: their citizens are happiest when they are wealthy, and dislike being poor.

History

The Corporate Sector is the apex corporate entity of an ultra-capitalistic society, the only organization capable of entering into contracts on behalf of the entire Iridium people. The Iridium culture is based on a firm, even fanatical belief in the power of free markets. Although no strangers to weaponry, all research is first considered through the lens of mutual cooperation; the destructive cost of warfare is often too great for Iridiums to seriously consider. It remains to be seen how well this philosophy will fare when introduced to more close-minded races.
